Secret Stash

I just found a secret stash of Chocolate Full Bloom fabric. As mentioned in a previous post, this print has been discontinued by he manufacturer, so this is the very last bit we have. I have a few minky blankets listed in our Etsy Shop - but act quick!

Pretty Pending Fabrics

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of these new prints for the upcoming season. The pretty blue fabrics will be in soon, and the sweet pinks should arrive in August. They will be available individually in blankets, bibs, and burp cloths, and together in quilts. I do believe they just may make it into our crib bedding selection as well....

New Blankets

We have added quite a few new plush blankets and quilts to our Etsy Shop. These will only be available through Etsy until we launch our new and improved website. Bibs and burp cloths are available in these new prints upon request.

Bits of Summer

Greening our Kitchen

In my ongoing attempts to create a green household, I have made these adorable cotton wipes to replace paper towels. They are super easy to make, inexpensive, money saving, and brighten up the space. I made these using absorbent terry cloth on one side and one of our modern prints on the other. Cute. Cute. Cute.

Note: Our fabric bags are perfect for craft projects like this.

Custom Bedding Set

We made a gorgeous crib bedding set for one of our customers using the very last of our Chocolate Full Bloom fabric. Sadly, this print has been discontinued, but I think this a lovely way to say goodbye. I hope you and your growing family love your new bedding set! (click on image for larger view)

Cloth Diapering

This post is completely off subject, but an important one. I have made the (better late than never) decision to cloth diaper my youngest son. Yes, he is almost two years old, and we surely only have another year left in diapers. Yes, I should have made this decision from the onset of child bearing, but once again, better late than never. The guilt of my contribution to post consumer waste, my personal and environmental responsibility to leave a healthy planet for my kids and grandkids, and my outrageous grocery bills have joined forces to finally push me into cloth diapering. The new reality program, Trashed, on the Green Channel has also been quite motivating (check it out). 

I am looking for feedback on the best, tried and true cloth diapers out there. There are SO MANY options I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I think I am getting past the laundry factor, as it doesn't seem as daunting as I once believed, but tips on this would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The Retiring Giraffe

The Big Post

So here is the post that I have been putting off. The post that has been hanging over my head for some time now. The post that I did not know how to begin....

First off, let me apologize for being a blog slacker. But inevitably something has had to take the back seat. Poor little blog. So what in the world has been brewing over here anyways? Well, a lot. The biggest and most exciting thing, (for me anyways), is that we have joined forces with a local women owned and operated manufacturing group. So this means more Quilt Baby goodies, faster. It means that all of you lovely, patient modern mamas and papas out there will no longer have to wait two weeks for your orders to ship. We will soon be able to ship most items within 3-4 days! Now if that isn't exciting news, I don't know what is...

Maybe the fact that we now have two new prints available in minky blankets, bibs, burp cloths, and combined for one chic baby quilt:

Or maybe the additional fact that we will soon have the cutest bibs in the world available. Our new and improved bibs will be made larger and with velcro instead of ties. Model not included - but isn't she adorable (thanks again, Maggie)!

And to top it all of we are going to have a big End of Summer Sale! We will have a large assortment of retired prints and designs, prototypes, first runs and seconds available at deep discounts. This will take place through our Etsy shop and I will keep you posted on the date - but think August.

And now for the much dreaded part of this otherwise lovely post.....Begining in August we will be implementing a price increase. While not drastic, l still feel it is important to announce this. So get those orders in soon!

Work Space

In all the excitement of this rapidly growing little company of mine I completely forgot to post pictures of my new work space. I am a big fan of going vertical with supplies and really maximizing the amount of space I have.
